Our Scriptural Reference: Ephesians 4:12-13; To equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Mission Statement

The Columbia District Christian Education Department strives to meet these undergirding responsibilities by “traditional” or “doing church differently” relevancy to all persons (children, youth and adults) for engagement in evangelistic teaching, growth and development.

Motto

"Christian Education is that ministry of the church which undergirds and supports all other ministries of the church."

Our Work

  1. Developing a comprehensive and unifying program of Christian Education which shall lead to a knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, the Christian Religion and the knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, the Christian Religion and the Christian Church and an implementation of these values in daily living.

  2. Providing source materials for all the educational work of the church and shall provide for developing standards and preparing programs and offering techniques of Christian Education in the local and general church in accordance with the provisions set forth in the current edition of The Doctrine and Discipline of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
